2000pt Samurai Army List

Postby Lord Odin Deathwind » Fri Jun 29, 2007 9:20 pm

Here's my first try at a Samurai Army. Any input would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Daimyo (Templar Grand Master)-Dawn Armour, Sword of Sigismund, =225

Jieichou (Captain)-Armour of Meteoric Iron, Battle Standard, Hammmer of Judgement=175

Madoushi (Battle Wizard)-lvl 2, 2X Dispel Scroll=115

20 Ashigaru (Spearmen)-spears, shields, full cmd=140
10 Yokujin (Archer Detachment)=80
10 free company-50

20 Bushi (Swordsmen)-full cmd=145
10 Yokujin (Archer Detachment)=80
10 Naginata (Halberd Detachment)=50

8 Mounted Samurai (Inner Circle Knights)-full cmd, Steel Standard=248

3X 20 Samurai (Great Swords)-full cmd=230

As you can see, I'm trying to theme this around the Samurai so I'd like to avoid using handgunners, and have minimal war machines (I know that'll be though).

Thanks again for your advice.

I've checked my math and made some adjustments, I hope everything is in order now.

This list is certainly a different but not unfamiliar theme check out:

although its using brets (silly guy) its a lovely looking army and if anyone could get near the converting quality and overall look it would be amazing, it is similar to your theme so may be a help for you.

So a fighty templar to lead then? im not usre it would fit, i would think the general a more of a leader amongst the samurai just a better bloke, instead of a herioc famous leader? i would take a general of the empire, the idea is to have not too tiny armies, i know these types are meant to be small but not this small anyway im guessing the sword is a big choppy 60pts+ type of thing and the armour is some cheap reliable armour

your army is tiny and i see why now becuase you are 477 points short of 2000pts? maybe you missed a unit i dunoo

to be honest if its a samurai based army i would minimse the core maximise the great swords and go combat crazy!

but meh i dont no anything about empire soo well nuf' sed
A vital, life-concluding spot
Achilles' heel was surely not,
Which makes the tale of his demise
Appear to be a pack of lies.

But think on this: Were you to stand
On one leg, over lumpy land,
Within a swaying two-wheeled cart,
Attempting to remove a dart,

And thus engaged, it came to pass
You hit a rock....you'd bust your arse.

I'd have to check the army book but I'm almost certain you need at least 1 unit of normal knights before you can take a unit of inner circle knights.

Other than that it's a nicely themed list.

I've tried a list similar to this, in build not theme, and found to almost every army forces you to come to them. It can work sometimes. but I would suggest that you get some sort of long range deally of death using the counts as rule.
I told you he died of natural causes; a knife in the heart naturally kills you.

Errr may be guns that way. Lets go the other way!
